[ something shifts in her eyes as he speaks of talking his way out of things, her mind flashing back to King's Landing, the times she managed to get Joffrey shift his decisions; to the Eyrie, her voice teary and wavering as she convinced the lords and ladies it had not been Lord Baelish who killed her aunt.
then, wryly, ] I've found talking has been the only weapon I have been allowed to have. [ at least until Ramsay. she may not have wielded a weapon herself, but she was the cause of his death. she was the cause of many deaths, even if the army of the Vale rode into battle and not her. ]
But I like the sound of fighting back.

Trish?
[She stopped walking, moving to come over to where he was to try to peer in the little window. Familiar gold hair surrounded a face that looked too still. Too cold. Too dead.]
Jesus.
[Her hands went to the pod, trying to find a release mechanism. Tugging at it, pushing, anything to get it open.]
How the hell do these things open?

Oh, thank you!
[ Ah yes, he enjoys having a kitchen assistant to helpfully hand him things. Of course, it's still a Herculean task, to whip sour cream by hand — almost immediately it starts to thin, which is probably pretty distressing to a man who considers himself a capable baker.
The rattle of the metal whisk around the bowl falters to a halt.
Tentatively, he uses a finger around the edge of the bowl to taste. Wrinkles his nose. ]
Hm. I think this cream might have turned, friend.

At some point?
[Maybe? Probably? He's heard of them, anyway. The westerns lose him just a little, he has to admit. Something he probably sat through with an ex, or on Sundays when there was nothing else on the television. Musicals - now those he can talk, and old movies with glamourous screen queens. Westerns made less impact.]
You may be mistaking me for someone a little more butch. Which is a novelty so go on, ask me some more.

I hope that they do come forward, but I wouldn't blame them if they didn't want to.
[A sound startles Venom as they walk, and it's almost enough for him to summon a ball. But it turns out to be a tiny lizard scurrying through the brush. He sighs as he tries to bury his anxiety quickly.]
And we could use some peace away from this place.

[ He's not sure if that eases his worries or not. The slight similarity helps more than the words themselves, and Loras finds his eyes shifting to look at the amulet once more. ]
What sort of pact do you think we're heading into? [ Destined pair and all. Nice words, probably, just meant to entice people into ... Whatever this is. ] I - There's already another that I think myself destined to be with. [ Just in case. Loras needed to say that, just in case. ]

[ The dog does indeed calm the situation a little. Reinhardt is still jumpy. He feels much better with the other man with both his revolvers. There is still that niggling fear in the fact that this man could shoot him in the back. Between that and the crawling sensation down his spine, he's on edge. On edge enough that he finds himself answering, helping deflect some of that shame. ]
This is nothing I have experience with either. I...don't like it. I needed a better plan.
[ He looks down at the dog and he smiles just a little. ]
Yes. Backup. We'll go back out and regroup.
[ With the darkness, it's hard to tell which way to go, but the dog had come from what he thinks is the east, so he's going to go that way. Just use his huge body and that glowing shield to light their path. He swears he's not running, but Reinhardt isn't quite shortening his strides any. No. He's taking his full stride. ]

| [She reads Old Draconic, okay!] I suppose... ...I've always preferred doing it by hand to digital mediums, personally, but beggars can't be choosers. |
[There's that slight twitch of his mouth at the way the dog barks, as if he agrees with Bucky's assessment. He catches the exchange, which is interesting, more subtle communication than most dogs are trained for.
But the dog is eager, and Bucky is quite willing to give him pets. He kneels down a little, petting him behind his ears, extra careful with the pressure. More because he likes animals, especially dogs, than any real concerns about not controlling his strength. He likes your dog, Ocelot.]
How long have you had him?
[It's easy conversation. He's usually bad at it, but he's found that when it comes to pets, there's a certain number of easy opening questions. At the question the man asks, he shrugs his shoulders.]
I was heading to Wyver. I know not everyone out this way is a fighter, so figured I'd explore a bit and do what I could to make sure the path stays clear.
[It was the sort of thing that Steve would do, he's sure of it.]

[ She watches the dog jump off her seat without much grumbling. That's that, then — she reaches for one last scratch behind the ears before she moves to settle in the seat. At least she's not completely hopeless, she's putting the seat belt on, but aside from that...
The shake of her head tells enough of a story. Definitely not — the closest thing that she has experience with is a motorcycle, which isn't... close at all, really. She does tip her chin in his direction — a haphazard imitation at "how about you?" — before she begins to study the control panel. ]

Well, how can I say no to an offer like that? Is there a particular place I should be looking for, or are you offering to be my guide?
[Though there is a part of her that questions why that offer is so easily made, but she keeps her daggers on her person for a reason. If it comes to it she knows how to protect herself, but there's something about the way he speaks that calls to her curiosity. She can at least give it a fair shot and see where it goes at least.]
How'd you guess? [A laugh.] I was though yes, did my fair share of odd jobs and hunting for treasure with my old crew. I'll have to start from scratch here I imagine, if I want to pick up that life again. [And boy does she want to, she can only imagine the possibilities that could come from a fresh start.] But I suppose as much as I'd like to be out on the water again it'll be smarter to get a good idea of everything going on around here.

[ He's a quicker shot than Steve, he notices, and it's hardly aimless shooting either, hitting it at its center - bullseye. For this reason, Steve thinks the other man must be the better shooter of the two of them. And with its eyes being smaller than its mouth, he thinks they'd be harder to aim for. ]
I'll go for the mouth. [ He hopes the stranger doesn't think he's taking the easy route out of laziness, he simply thinks the other man is more likely to shoots its eyes than he is. Hopefully he'll consider it a compliment to his shooting skills.
He takes a shot at the serpent's head, which causes it to screech and go back underwater for cover, but Steve imagines it'll come back up within seconds. ]
Have you met a creature like this before?

Wait seriously? [ she blinks at that, a little more curious now. and trying to use that curiosity to wave off her nerves. ] When you say research... you don't mean like the palm readers on the corner of the streets who sell readings for five bucks right? Or the tv psychics acting like they're talking to some poor dude's dead granny.
[Sanzo remained silent as he followed Ocelot down into the depths of the cave. It was surprisingly more habitable than Sanzo had initially believed it would be, but that didn't stop that forlorn feeling from continuing to bear down upon them.
Whatever it was, something very much didn't want them to be there. Perhaps it was a good thing that he was a certified priest.]
Looks like someone had been here long ago. It almost seems like ruins to an old ritual site.
[Oh, sorry, did that just make the situation seem all the more creepy? His bad.]

Oh whoops this got lost in my inbox! So sorry for the late reply!

[ there really is, but Reinhardt is one of those far too trusting idiots. Besides, right now, he's more focused on how to get the newest group that are their passengers down to the planet without killing everyone involved. No pressure really. It's a good thing the man is a walking paragon of positive thinking (most of the time anyway) ]
Well then, this will be fun. I'm glad we are sharing our first time together. I just wish they made seat belts in size me.
[ Which will always and forever be his main complaint about anything. His size makes for a lot of awkwardness. But he'll just hook himself right on in and focus on all those positive feelings. Pure and utter confidence. They can do this. No one was going to die.Ocelot has a nice profile ]
Let's get this party started! [ He'll just start flipping switches and pressing buttons. Something has to work to start it and he's more than happy to buttonmash until he gets it right and has the engines on. ] I'm giving steering to you, I...think. Take us out.

[ I mean, he still thinks of the USSR as an ally, and not the undoing of his entire life and selfhood. Huzzah.
Bucky, for his part, nods. ]
That's exactly what I was thinking.
[ That it can't be too hard, right? ]
I've been able to fly any plane they ever gave me… and a couple that they haven't. Doesn't seem too different.
[ Yes… surely nothing can go wrong here. ]

There really is nothing subtle about lifting a grown man off his feel to kiss him fully. Reinhardt doesn't care. He could use the excuse of traditions. You kissed under the mistletoe. But this is more than a tradition. Much more. There's definitely something about the way Ocelot holds onto him. How they fit together. He loves the feel of those fingers in his hair. And he doesn't care what anyone thinks. He's allowed to indulge a little. It's not like he's hurting anyone in this.
Still, he knows he must part. If only so that he can take a slow and steady breath, still inches away from those lips. He hasn't put the man down yet. "I suppose I couldn't trouble you for a dance while I have your attention?" Not that he wouldn't mind continuing to stand right here and kiss this man a little more. It's rather enjoyable.

You're doing your country so proud.
[ he gestures by tipping his drink in Ocelot's direction. said drink is slowly retracted when he considers the (very slim, in his mind) possibility of having to spend a hundred silver on another guy. he doesn't even know if he has a hundred silver on him.
but like hell is Bigby going to reveal that. there's a brief pause where he considers it, but then his shoulders shrug and he manages a nod. ]
Seems fair enough. Better than this badge bullshit at the very least.
[ annnd down the hatch. that's the rest of his beer in one fell swoop. ]
