[ because really, that's a question that will impact them all. but again, there were plenty of dangerous people with abilities just waiting to be let out. ]

IS there any way to protect against that?

Viral. He's a fucking disease. He speaks, you do, but there's an area of effect and time lasting limit. Thanks to a fuck up, he has a bigger and longer lasting one. As long as you can't hear him in the open, you're good. Hermetically sealed things work, which I hope these pods are. There might be an antidote, but the last attempt resulted in the fuck up.

Well, that's one that I haven't heard before. [ and while he tries not to show it, he really hates the idea. ] Back home, I knew a scientist who was an expert at synthesizing cures for things like that [ a pause ] but he was also a real prick.

I think there's some kind of saying about people who are smart being super assholes, but since I've met some dumbshit assholes in my life, I think it's just better to say that everyone's their own degree of asshole.

There were some pretty extensive conversations about this a while back. Best case scenario, they decide he doesn't need his abilities.

He was devious in how he could build contingencies around himself, how he could use people, but that was because of not having to work at being charming or manipulative. [ and really, that's definitely something to watch. he's been prepared for plenty of things, but this... was definitely something else. ]

But the most important thing is knowing when to pick and choose your fights. As long as what's-his-face stays asleep or powerless, you'll probably be fine. The Orbiters don't care what happens once someone is down on the surface.

[Jessica didn't trust easily, and if Kilgrave was here and he woke up, that meant he had access to Trish. That was not okay.]

If he doesn't, it'll only be a matter of time before someone puts a bullet in his head, special abilities or no. It always happens to those types.

[She folded her arms, standing there watching him and wishing she knew for sure, one way or the other, if Kilgrave was actually in one of those pods.]

This is one of those moments where time matters. This prick can do a lot of damage in a minute, let alone in 'a matter of time'. If they were smart, they'd find his fucking pod and burn it.
